Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a manualized trauma therapy that utilizes bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements) to focus on a trauma memory, thereby reducing it’s vividness and associations in the mind-body-emotion of the individual. EMDR is a highly researched therapy modality that has success in treating a variety of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. EMDR might be right for you if traditional talk therapy has not provided effective results in addressing your concerns. Serena has a strong interest in providing short-term EMDR to clients who are already receiving ongoing psychotherapy and those seeking to address specific trauma memories.
