Serena (Seh-REH-nah)

Serena was born in small-town Powell, Wyoming and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. She currently resides in East Harlem NYC. Outside of her role as a therapist, Serena is an avid lover of video games, anime, sci-fi and fantasy novels, and snuggling up with her fur babies, Xochi and Maru. She has a love for the cold (yes, winter time is a joy!), attending spin classes with friends, and admiring the beautiful mountains of Denver, CO when visiting her family.

Serena’s lived experiences in rural and urban environments are a cornerstone for her passion for mental wellness and BIPOC LGBTQ+ communities. Her identity as a queer transgender Chicana has influenced her spiritual practice with ancestral veneration, tarot/divination, and dream work.

As a clinician, Serena has received master’s level and post-master training through the NY Department of Education, The Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, and the Stephen Mitchell Relational Center. Her interest in healing work began with her own journey towards mental wellness while surviving under US American imperialism. Serena’s practice prides itself in deep listening, wonder, discovery, and authentic human connection.
